Operation Kurta Shoppin and Operation Major Cleanup

without comments

shakiba calls me up a few days ago and tells me dat daud wants a kurta for his b-day which happens to fall on the same day as eid. he threatened to not only wear nothing else but also to never talk to her again. so shakiba has no option but to go kurta shoppin 3 days before eid. but wait, she wants to take me along to help her choose. ’sure, pick me up from iba on sat. ill miss my class to go get daud a kurta’. she came a lil too early. coz the shops probably hadnt opened by then, so i show off my lambu to my iba friends.

ohhh…btw, even though she had just come to over my place a week or so ago to collect some advertisments, this time when i saw her walkin into the iba gate, i let out a gasp. ‘motiiiii ho gayi ho’. farida ibad, our General teacher back in PAF, used to call the 2 of us ‘khilaris’. hehehe..’aa gaye tum dono khilaree meri class mein bhi?’ (those were the days). now both us basketball deprived individuals have blown up like balloons.

anyway, we went to the nearest Junaid Jamshed outlet. i was in for yet another surprise. most of the clothes were ‘ewwwww’. who wears a black kurta with red and yellow embroidery or a purple kurta or an orange kurta or a white kurta with purple embroidery? what is the world comin to? we finally find sthg ‘decent’. its an XL and it occured to me, ‘do u know what his size is?’ ‘ummmm…nooo’

so she calls him up. more like wakes him up. he says his size is L and not XL so we begin our search again. we find 2 more kurtas but none as good as the first one. we call him up again and tell him ‘We dont care. XL pehan lena. aur agar woh nahin chahiye to we’re sendin u the black one with the red and yellow embroidery’. hehe. so we tcsed him an XL. thankGod guys arent that picky abt fittin into clothes.

i make it back to iba on time and play fooseball for the first time. had fun. on the point ride home in the beginnin everyone was unusually quiet so i asked maria to play ‘gandhi ki dhoti’. i know its a very stupid game but it can leave u in stitches. this time we decided to use signboards and hoardings we saw instead of movie names. these r some that we came up with.

gandhi ji ki dhoti mein ‘admissions open’

gandhi jee ki dhoti mein hum aap ki darya dili k muntazir hain

gandhi jee ki dhoti mein master jee believed in hard work.

gandhi jee ki dhoti mein practical center.

lols. we laughed so much my tummy hurt.

then when she got off i started askin everyone for eidi. only got 1 rs from adnan. :(

heheheh. i came back home to find it bustlin with activity. bhaii ka taraweeh ka khatam is tom night. thats the only time in the whole year we have an actual dawat at our place and quite a few ppl r invited. so there’s loads of work to do startin with house cleaning. the hall on the 2nd floor which dad had built specifically for this is hardly used throughout the year. and even though its cleaned once every week, the amount of cobwebs i saw today was sickening. nonetheless, i, bein the acrobat of the house, was expected to climb onto things and clean up places that are hard to reach. ill post pics of the place when it was finally cleaned.(it asked for a url. i think ill have to ign up flickr after all)

tomorrrow, we have to move outfurniture from the first flooor here to make room for some 20 ladies to pray. everyday its just me, ammi, my grandmother and a couple of maids but today they’re goin to be quite a few.

no more IBA till Thurs. i still havent decided if I want to go or not on Thurs. IBF ki class is important. cant afford to miss that. i hope its the second day of Eid on thurs so i dont have to go.
